Paradise Ride - Malama Pono Kauai

August 2nd, 2008 by Coconut Coasters | Tags: , , , , | Posted in Coconut Wireless |

Coconut Coasters Beach Bike Rentals sends a huge Aloha to our friends, readers and family here in Kauai and across the world.  July 2008 was Coconut Coasters best month ever in respect to sales and feedback from our awesome customers.  Thank you for the letters, well wishes and emails and of course the awesome ratings we have been getting on the web and sites like merchantcircle.com and google.com.  If you were here recently and took pictures on the path or of your group on bikes, please email me a copy with your permission to use and we will see if we can’t find room for you on our site or wall inside the shop.

The verdict is in, and our customer’s say they love the shop, bikes and service so we are so proud of that. We have been tracking our customer’s home towns on a huge map in the store for about 6 weeks now, and have 3/4 of the states represented now as well as 8 different countries. We are still looking forward to meeting those of you visiting Kauai from New Mexico, Nevada, Missouri, Iowa, Mississippi,  Alabama, South Carolina, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and of course Rhode Island!  If you are making a trip to Kauai in the upcoming weeks or months, please stop in, say hello and place a sticker on the map so your state can be represented.

We recently met a very nice lady who had only 13 countries left on her quest to visit every country in the world.  She travels with a group that spends at least 6 months of every year traveling to new places and getting stamps in her passport.  She is from Indonesia and I must say she was just daring and has many interesting stories about her adventures.  She showed us her most recent passport, which was full of fascinating stamps from all over.  We wish her safe travels and warm greetings wherever she goes

The bike rental business in Kauai is taking interesting form in that we initially thought most of our customers would be visitors renting a bike for just an hour or so biking up and down the eastern shoreline of the island.  To our delight, we are getting a large volume of local business from our community which means that our Ohana in Kauai is enjoying this beautiful paradise we live in as well.  Thank goodness it isn’t all work here, and no play.  School is almost back in session for Kauai families, so this week we have seen our local kids coming in for one more summer ride before they head back to class.

In addition, we are pleased with the number of visitors that are renting for week or more, opting for an eco-friendly transportation method vs. getting in the car to run to the store or site see locally.  Our price breaks for weekly rentals make that possible, since our weekly rates are equivalent to a 4 day rental.  NICE!  Thanks to those who are choosing greener options!

Next weekend, Coconut Coasters Beach Bike Rentals will be sponsoring a rider check in booth for the Malama Pono Paradise Ride in Kauai.  On Sunday, we will have a booth ready at Opaeka’a Falls in Wailua with snacks, shade and refreshments for all those who are out there biking to raise money for this excellent organization and worthy cause.  You can read more about the Paradise Ride by visiting paradiseridekauai.com.  Looking for an opportunity to volunteer?  We could sure the use help at the event on Sunday between noon and 4 pm at the falls.  More hands make light work. J  All volunteers are invited to a special dinner at the Kapaa Neighborhood Center following the conclusion of the ride, most likely about 5:30 PM.

To get more information, or sign up to help please call us at 808-822-7368.

UPDATE:  Coconut Coasters Beach Bike Rentals was voted BEST REST STOP for the Sunday Paradise Ride!  Many thanks to our volunteers:  The Lee Family and Friends, Brett I, Glen C, Gail L, Steve M and da’ sista’s.  We love and appreciate all you do!
